Background

The aims of the project were research of good practice of motivational methods used for adults in the involved countries (Bulgaria, Germany, Lithuania, Italy), identification of reasons of success and failure and possibilities of integration and adaptation of different methods, identification of common and different features of attitude towards learning in the involved countries.

Realisation

A tailored survey has been created and used in this project to identify adult motivation to learn. The research has been finished in all participating countries and the data have been worked out and included in the final project products.
The survey has been elaborated to assess unemployed people's attitudes toward active job search, professional teaching and re-qualification. The research has been addressed on the relationship of attitudes and the length of unemployment, gender, age, profession, education, and family situations. Practical application aspects of motivational programs have been determined.
The purpose of the survey was to assess reasons for decreasing motivation to learn, major social and psychological problems that unemployed people encounter, analysing the results of the survey we tried to: determine the meaning of these problems for different groups of unemployed people; establish the reasons difficulties in adapting to and integrating into the labour market; establish priorities of psychological and career counselling and professional training.

Final Products/Results

The research helped to consolidate different country experience and to equalize strategies to the exploratory question. Furthermore it helps the East and Central Europe countries preparing for the integration to EU.
The shared experience between the partners can be used directly in their work. The working habits used by each of the organizations, participants in the project, as well as by their partners in the following countries - Lithuania, Germany, Italy and Bulgaria have been afforded.
