Background

There are huge differences among all the e-learning courses available.
Mainly they differ on training needs and on theoretical points of view imposed or on the expertise of the designers. In fact, the same professional role can be “interpreted” by the designer in different ways, with different skills and different tasks, according to their training process typology.
Each professional role has its own specificities, different from any others. Therefore, we need a shared, quite flexible and easy-to-use tool for making qualitative analysis of the methodological approach for the achieved courses.

Realisation

The starting point of ELF is preparation of methodological analysis grid. It will be the tool that providing us homogeneous and comparable results for each achieved course.
Focus groups with various people involved in training paths (conceivers, trainers, tutors, etc.) will be established in each participating country. The involved e-learning facilitators (ELF-s) will develop awareness of strength and weakness point of these experiences.
All partners of the present project tend towards to contribute to innovation and optimisation of e-learning by e-tutor’s role analysis and to recognise e-tutor tasks and competencies in various processes of e-learning.

Final Products/Results

As final results we expect to see elaborated:
1) Guidelines about methodological approaches to the e-tutor training;
2) Dossier about necessary skills of a ELF according to methodologies of each course;
3) Keywords Glossary about ELF’s role.
